The Paxton 353-210 Compact Proximity Reader P50 is a reliable and secure solution for standalone single-door access control. With all electronics contained within the housing, it offers a cost-effective, streamlined installation for commercial, educational, and healthcare environments. Supporting up to 10,000 users on one site, it works seamlessly with Paxton’s standalone card packs for efficient access management.
About
The Compact system is an all-in-one single-door access control solution, eliminating the need for separate controllers. The P50 reader is supplied with a black fascia as standard, while replacement fascias are available in black and white/grey, free of charge for Paxton registered installers via the Paxton Portal. This makes it a flexible choice for small to medium-sized sites requiring dependable access security.
Installation
The Compact P50 reader is quick to install with two wires connecting to the lock and two wires to the power supply, plus optional wiring for an exit button. A centrally exiting cable ensures accurate drilling and mounting. For best performance, avoid mounting on metal surfaces or near other proximity readers. Once installed, present the enrolment card to activate all tokens in the pack, completing the setup.
Operation
After installation, user tokens are immediately valid. Each token comes with a corresponding shadow card for easy user management. If a token is lost or access needs to be revoked, presenting the shadow card to the reader will instantly invalidate that token. A replacement token can then be issued without hassle. Additional programming is available via Paxton’s Proximity function card pack, including zoning by token colour to control access levels.
