Description
The Paxton 360-864BL Proximity Reader – Architectural, Matt Black is a premium access control reader designed to blend seamlessly into modern building interiors. Manufactured with high-quality materials and a sleek matt black finish, it combines durability with discreet aesthetics. The unit features three high-intensity LEDs and is part of a versatile system offering insert customization options, including glass or other non-metal materials, to match the interior décor.
About – This designer proximity reader has been carefully developed for projects where aesthetics are as important as performance. It consists of two main components: the reader body and the insert. Paxton offers a glass insert option, but custom inserts can also be designed to complement unique architectural requirements. Additionally, Genuine HID® Technology support allows the reader to process HID 125kHz tokens when licensed via activation card.
Installation – The 360-864BL reader is designed to be partially recessed into a wall and comes with a backbox for secure mounting. It connects easily using the colour-coded wiring instructions provided on the control unit. Compatible with both Paxton Net2 and Switch2 systems, the installation is quick and precise, with the cable exit located centrally for neat drilling and fitting.
Operation – To gain access, a user presents their proximity token close to the reader. The associated Paxton controller checks the access permissions and grants or denies entry. The reader provides clear visual feedback with its tri-colour LED indicators: green for granted access, red for denied, and white in standby mode.
