Description
About – The Paxton Net2 Plus is a networked access control unit designed for managing a single door with centralised control, event reporting, and flexible user management. Each control unit operates independently while remaining part of the wider Net2 system, ensuring reliability and scalability. This model (682-813) includes a 12V 2A PSU housed in a durable metal cabinet.
The Net2 Plus connects directly to a PC or LAN via TCP/IP using a standard RJ45 plug, eliminating the need for additional converters. It also features RS485 capability, allowing daisy-chaining with Net2 Plus or Net2 Classic units for versatile installation options. FLASH memory ensures easy upgrades, while compatibility with Paxton and third-party readers offers flexibility in access hardware.
Installation – The Net2 Plus controller includes a clear wiring label with colour-coded terminals for readers, power supply, locks, exit buttons, and alarm devices. A voltage-free relay enables switching of most electric locks or other devices. Units connect to the network over TCP/IP and require a fixed/static IP address.
Configuration is completed via the Net2 Configuration Utility, while built-in diagnostic LEDs simplify troubleshooting. Switchable end-of-line resistors are included, eliminating the need for external components and reducing installation time.
Operation – Once configured, the controller stores all changes from the PC instantly. When a user presents their token, the unit checks permissions and grants or denies access accordingly. The control unit ensures secure and reliable operation even if the central PC or network connection is unavailable.
