Overview
KP Readers combine a keypad and proximity reader in a single device, providing enhanced access control with both card and PIN (or code) authentication. Designed for use with Switch2 and Net2 systems, these readers offer flexible security options for various access points. The K series readers come with interchangeable black bezels, which can be fitted during the final installation phase. Paxton registered installers can request replacement bezels in black, white, or grey free of charge through the Extranet.
Easy & Accurate Installation
KP Readers are wired as per the control unit label instructions for seamless integration. To ensure optimal read range and performance, avoid mounting on metal surfaces or placing them too close to other proximity readers. The cable exits centrally from the back of the unit, allowing for precise drilling and mounting during installation.
Effortless Operation & Secure Access
The reader operates by detecting a token held close to its surface. If code/PIN authentication is required, users must enter the correct details via the keypad. The control unit verifies credentials, granting or denying access accordingly.
Access Granted: A green LED flashes, indicating successful entry.
Access Denied: A red LED flashes, alerting unauthorized attempts.
