Description
Apollo Multi-Tone Weatherproof Open-Area Sounder (Red)
Part Number: 55000-274APO
The Apollo Multi-Tone Weatherproof Open-Area Sounder is designed for use in open areas and is compatible with Apollo Discovery and XP95 fire alarm systems. It delivers high sound output with low current consumption and requires no external power supply.
Key Features
- Weatherproof design for open-area applications
- Loop-powered – no external power supply required
- Multi-tone output with synchronisation capability
- Group and individual addressing options
- Compatible with Apollo XP95 and Discovery protocols
- Low current consumption
- Up to 100 dB(A) sound output
Electrical Specifications
- Operating Voltage: 18–28V DC
- Power Supply: Powered directly from loop
- Polarity Sensitive: Yes
- Nominal Sound Output: 100 dB(A)
- Current Consumption:
- Sounder: 5mA
- Sounder Beacon: 9mA
Many control panels can drive up to 20 sounders per loop (average).
The maximum number of sounders per loop should be confirmed using the Apollo Loop Calculator.
Operation
The sounder features tone synchronisation to ensure clarity of alarm signals. This prevents tones from multiple sounders merging into a confusing or misleading signal.
Because these devices are intended for open areas where multiple sounders may be audible simultaneously, synchronisation can be achieved by sending address “0” (as with the XP95 Sounder Control Unit).
The device supports:
- Individual addressing
- Group addressing
- Functional options identical to the XP95 Sounder Control Unit
Device Addressing
- Individual Address Range: 1–126 (set via DIL switch)
- Group Address Range: 112–126 (selectable via 4-segment DIL switch)
Important notes:
- When using group addressing, the individual address must be between 1–111
- If set outside this range under group control, a fault value of 4 is transmitted
- Devices not using group addressing may be set anywhere between 1–126
Compatibility
- Compatible only with control equipment using the Apollo XP95 or Discovery protocol
- Advanced features are available only when connected to a control panel with appropriate software
