Description

The Notifier NCM-W Network Communications Module delivers robust, fault-tolerant networking for NOTIFIER fire alarm control panels (NFS-640, NFS-3030, NFS2-3030) and NCA/NCA-2 annunciators via NOTI•FIRE•NET™. This module uses twisted-pair wiring to link nodes in NFPA Style 4 (Class B) or Style 7 (Class A) topologies at up to 312.5 Kbaud, regenerating data at each node for maximum signal integrity.

Equipped with two programmable data-threshold settings and transformer-isolated ports, the NCM-W ensures electrical isolation between nodes. Pluggable terminal blocks with strain relief and a front-accessible service connector simplify installation and maintenance—even allowing power removal without disrupting the network. Two network ports enable simultaneous connections to the fire panel and a programming computer for software or database upload/download.

To tailor network behavior, onboard DIP switches let you enable ground-fault detection (SW103/SW101) and end-of-line resistors (SW100/SW102) per channel. For extended reach, repeaters (RPT-W, RPT-WF) can boost signal strength or switch between wire and fiber media. With up to 3,000 ft between nodes, the NCM-W is ideal for large facilities requiring reliable, high-speed fire-alarm communications.
