The Paxton 333-210 Compact Proximity Reader P38 is a secure and reliable solution for single-door access control. All electronics are built into the reader housing, making installation quick and cost-effective without requiring separate controllers. Designed for commercial, educational, and healthcare applications, this reader supports up to 10,000 users on one site and integrates seamlessly with standalone card packs.
About
Paxton’s Compact system offers a simple yet powerful standalone access control solution for sites that require flexible security. The P38 reader comes with a black fascia as standard, with white and grey fascia replacements available via the Paxton Portal. It provides effective token-based access management for small to medium-sized sites.
Installation
The Compact P38 reader connects directly to the lock and power supply with just two wires each, plus optional wiring for an exit button. Its centrally exiting cable makes drilling and mounting accurate and straightforward. To ensure optimal performance, avoid mounting on metal surfaces or near other proximity readers. Once installed, present the enrolment card to activate all tokens in the pack.
Operation
After enrolment, user tokens are instantly valid. Each token comes with a corresponding shadow card for easy management. If a token is lost or needs to be removed, simply present the shadow card at the reader to invalidate it. Replacement tokens can then be issued without hassle. Using Paxton’s Proximity function card pack, advanced features such as zoning by token colour can also be enabled for tailored access control.
