Description
The Silent Knight 5815XL Signaling Line Circuit (SLC) Expander Module is an intelligent expansion solution for use with select Silent Knight and Farenhyt fire alarm control panels, including the 6820, 6820EVS, IFP-1000, IFP-1000ECS, and IFP-2000. This module enables support for additional Hochiki SD or IDP addressable devices, extending the scalability of your fire detection system.
Each 5815XL module supports up to 127 SD devices or, depending on the panel, up to 159 IDP detectors and 159 IDP modules. Communication between the expander and the control panel occurs over a reliable RS-485 system bus, and a built-in green LED provides visual confirmation of healthy communication. In the event of device failure on the loop, the panel is alerted while unaffected devices continue to operate normally.
The module is easy to install and supports flexible housing options, including compatibility with the IFP-1000/2000 and RPS-1000 enclosures. Additionally, it uses standard wiring—no special twisted or shielded cable is required.
Certified to UL 864 and approved by FM, CSFM, and MEA, the 5815XL is a trusted expansion component for fire alarm systems requiring high reliability, modularity, and field-proven performance.
