The Simplex 4098-9686 TrueAlarm Duct Smoke Detector is engineered to provide dependable smoke detection in HVAC ducts by using advanced photoelectric sensing technology. This unit includes a factory-installed 4098-9601 smoke sensor, pre-installed in a durable duct housing with a transparent cover for easy inspection.
Designed for use with Simplex fire alarm systems, this duct detector is compatible with conventional 4-wire initiating device circuits (IDCs), offering reliable performance for commercial, industrial, and institutional environments. It provides a supervised relay control output, capable of managing up to fifteen 4098-9843 control relays. Relay supervision status is clearly indicated via a yellow LED on the integrated interface board.
Installation is straightforward—mounts directly to both rectangular and round air ducts. An optional 4098-9835 remote test station is available for remote testing and monitoring, featuring LED indicators for alarm and power status along with a keyed test switch. The duct detector board (565-905) can also be purchased separately as a replacement component.
This smoke detector is ideal for applications requiring early detection of smoke in HVAC systems to prevent the spread of smoke and fire through air circulation.
