Description
CE & UKCA Marked Astro Batt and Coating System
Astro Batt is a fire-resistant board specially developed to seal around service penetrations in walls and floors, helping to maintain the integrity of fire-rated structures. Each board, available in 50mm or 60mm thickness, offers exceptional fire and thermal insulation.
It has been independently tested for use in a variety of constructions including block walls, concrete, masonry, plasterboard partitions, and concrete floors. When installed correctly, Astro Batt provides up to 4 hours of fire resistance in line with BS 476: Part 20:1987 and EN 1366-3:2009 standards. It also delivers acoustic insulation performance up to Rw 60dB (please contact Astroflame technical support for details).
The board is made from a high-density stone fibre core and coated on both sides with Astro Coat – a specialist ablative coating that expands under heat to block the passage of fire, smoke, and heat. For full protection, all cut edges and joints should be sealed using Astro Coat or Astro Intumescent Mastic.
