The DAKEA KAS S6A B1010 Automatic Opening Smoke Vent (AOV) is a motorised smoke ventilation roof window designed for pitched roofs between 15° and 60°.
Supplied with the DAKEA KUF S6A Universal Flashing Kit, this 114 × 118 cm roof window is suitable for installation with compatible slate, tile and profiled roofing materials.

DAKEA Automatic Opening Smoke Vent Roof Window with Universal Flashing Kit
The DAKEA KAS S6A B1010 Smoke Ventilation Roof Window is designed to provide automatic smoke and heat ventilation in buildings with pitched roofs.
Manufactured to EN 12101-2 requirements, the window uses an electric opening motor and gas-strut assistance to open during a fire emergency when activated by a compatible smoke ventilation control system.
This package includes the matching DAKEA KUF S6A Universal Flashing Kit, providing a practical installation solution for compatible slate, tile and profiled roof coverings.
With its 114 × 118 cm nominal dimensions, insulated safety glazing and white-painted timber frame, the window combines smoke ventilation functionality with the appearance of a conventional pitched roof window.
Automatic Smoke Ventilation
The DAKEA KAS window is designed to operate as part of a smoke and heat control system.
When connected to compatible control equipment, the window can respond to activation signals from smoke detectors or manual fire alarm points.
The pre-installed electric motor and gas struts open the window to its maximum position within 60 seconds of receiving the appropriate activation signal.
This allows smoke and hot gases to escape through the roof as part of a correctly designed smoke ventilation system.
Universal Slate and Tile Flashing Included
The package includes the genuine DAKEA KUF S6A Universal Flashing Kit.
The flashing provides the external weatherproofing connection between the roof window and compatible roofing materials.
It is suitable for a range of roof coverings, including:

- Concrete and clay roof tiles.
- High-profile roof tiles.
- Pantiles.
- Compatible corrugated roofing sheets.
The universal flashing is designed for high-profile roofing materials between 16 mm and 120 mm. Compatibility with individual slate products and other roof coverings must be checked before installation.
The flashing includes an extended pleated aluminium apron to accommodate different roofing profiles.
Designed for Pitched Roofs
The DAKEA smoke ventilation window is suitable for roof pitches between 15° and 60°.
It can be installed in suitable pitched-roof buildings, including communal stairwells, offices and other locations where a smoke ventilation window forms part of the building’s fire safety design.
The window is not designed for use as a roof access or escape window.

Smoke Ventilation Opening Area
The DAKEA KAS S6A window has a manufacturer-declared geometrical opening area of 1.18 m².
This measurement is different from the aerodynamic free area used in certain smoke ventilation designs.
When fitted with the compatible optional DAKEA KWU wind deflector, the manufacturer specifies an aerodynamic free area of 0.54 m².
The suitability of the window must be assessed against the smoke ventilation requirements of the building.
