Description
The Notifier ISO-X(A) Fault Isolator Module is an intelligent, addressable solution engineered to safeguard Signaling Line Circuits (SLC) from wire-to-wire short circuits. Designed for use with Notifier ONYX and CLIP Series Fire Alarm Control Panels, the ISO-X(A) isolates faulty segments within the loop while maintaining operation of unaffected devices — a critical function for life safety and system reliability.
This module is ideal for systems where maintaining uptime is crucial. Fault isolators like the ISO-X(A) should be installed between groups of sensors (up to 25 addressable devices between isolators) to ensure localized faults don’t compromise the entire loop. It’s especially effective in large, distributed installations such as high-rises, campuses, and commercial buildings.
The ISO-X(A) requires no external power, drawing power directly from the SLC loop. It features a status LED that blinks during normal operation and turns solid during a short circuit condition, providing immediate visual indication. Once the fault is corrected, the device automatically resets, restoring full communication.
