The Paxton 010-824 Paxton10 Keypad Reader delivers secure and versatile access control with built-in Bluetooth® technology and multi-format token compatibility. Supporting PIN plus token two-factor authentication, this reader is engineered for high-security environments. Designed with a fully backlit hardened silicon keypad, it ensures durability, easy use, and reliable performance in demanding installations.
About
The Paxton10 Keypad Reader supports Paxton, MIFARE®, HID™ Prox, EM, FeliCa, NFC, and DESFire tokens. With encrypted RS485 communication, it integrates seamlessly with Paxton10 door and video controllers. The keypad is IP67 weatherproof, IK09 impact-resistant, and built to withstand heavy use.
Installation
The reader comes pre-fitted with 5m of cable, colour-coded for straightforward wiring to a Paxton10 controller. For extended runs, Belden 8723 cable is recommended. Install centrally and avoid mounting near other readers to maintain optimal read range. Its low-profile design and precise rear cable exit ensure clean, accurate mounting.
Operation
Users present tokens or enter PINs directly on the illuminated keypad. Access permissions are instantly verified by the control unit, granting or denying entry. When paired with smart credentials, the reader offers three Bluetooth® operating modes:
- Token mode – Standard card or fob use.
- Touch-to-enter mode – Automatic unlock with a simple touch.
- Long-range mode – Hands-free entry using a smartphone or smart device.
