Description

The Simplex 4098-9756 Air Duct Smoke Detector offers reliable smoke detection within HVAC duct systems using an advanced TrueAlarm photoelectric sensor. Designed for commercial and industrial fire safety systems, this compact sensor housing continuously samples air from ducts to monitor for smoke, triggering alerts before smoke reaches occupied spaces.

This model includes a factory-installed sensor and is compatible with both IDNet™ and MAPNET II® 2-wire addressable communications, allowing for digital transmission of analog sensor values to the host fire alarm control panel. The system supports programmable sensitivity, automatic environmental compensation, and dirt accumulation monitoring to ensure long-term reliability and reduce false alarms.

The 4098-9756 includes a supervised relay output (24VDC) for activating external devices. This output is fully panel-controlled, enabling relay activation via manual commands or system-driven events. It also includes a clear front cover for easy visual inspection, magnetic test features, and test ports for quick smoke testing without removing the cover.

Installation is simple—mounts easily to square ducts (min. 8″) or round ducts (min. 18″ diameter). Optional weatherproof enclosures are available for additional protection in outdoor or harsh environments.
